Annual
Signature Headdress Ball
The Headdress Ball,
an annual Spring tradition since 1952, is a black tie extravaganza,
which includes spectacular headdress presentations, gourmet dining and
dancing. This signature event helps fund two philanthropic projects:
The Dr. Earl R. Crane Children's Dental Health Center, providing professional
dental services to select children in San Bernardino, and Operation
School Bell®, providing new clothing, shoes and personal hygiene
products to children in need.

Donors can contribute
gifts of cash or appreciated property to the Assistance League of San
Bernardino Endowment Fund managed by The Community Foundation. Donations
to the endowment fund can be made in honor of someone, as a recognition
of a birthday or other special event, or in memory of a loved one. There
are a number of options available to you when designating a gift for
the Assistance League of San Bernardino Endowment Fund in your will
or trust. You can designate a fixed sum of money, certain properties
or a share of your estate after obligations have been met. Your gift
can be contingent. That is, funds are to go to an individual if they
survive you, if not, they are donated to the Assistance League of San
Bernardino Endowment Fund. Because there are many ways to donate you
may want to consult your attorney or financial consultant or have the
Assistance League of San Bernardino refer you to an attorney or financial
consultant.
The Community Foundation
has been an established charitable endowment management organization
since 1941. They currently handle 23 million dollars in assets from
individuals and community organizations. They invest the funds with
assistance of professionals, file necessary federal and state reports
annually and acknowledge receipt of donations. The principal is held
in the endowment in perpetuity and never spent. The interest is dispersed
annually to the organization unless they choose to have all or part
of the funds added to the principal.
